I saw the Devil: South Korea new masterpiece?

Stunning new poster, and a new trailer for South Korea's latest masterpiece, I saw the Devil by Ji-Woon Kim (A tale of two sisters, The good, the bad, the weird), which has been doing the rounds in film festivals around the world.

While the plot might seem familiar (A secret agent tracks a serial killer who killed his fiance), it is is execution, its moral complexity and its excruciating violence that got it noticed, as the two protagonists engage in an increasingly desperate game of cat of mouse, which each encounter proving more and more brutal.

It was shown in Toronto and Sundance, and is due to be released in the US in France. Sadly no UK release date has been announced yet although it might be featured at Frightfest in August or even get picked up by the London Film Festival in October.
